wishing space

This work was commissioned by the queer-feminist cultural space Les Complices* for a small festival hosted in the summer of 2023 by the new curatorial team.

For the two days of the event I created an immersive space that invited guests to share, on paper cards, their wishes both for and from Les Complices*. The cards were collected on the walls of the space, and in the afternoon of the second day I led a collective reading of the wishes.

what do you wish
for Les Complices*?
for its spaces and workings,
for its multiplicitous constellations and communities,
for the resonances it radiates and receives.

what do you wish
from Les Complices*?
what are your needs, your desires,
what will nourish, strengthen, support, inspire?

this is an invitation to dream!
to fabulate possibilities, to cast spells;
attune and articulate, listen and voice;
feel, fantasize, share, create.

the desk in this space is a wishing worktable for you to use.
write or draw on paper cards
and place your wishes on the wall.
on Sunday at 16:00 a wishing ritual will take place,
a collective reading and resonating with what is collected here.
